Slugs safe for barrel

Quick question, going to buy a Umarex Origin in 22 soon. Saw some videos of using slugs. Wanted to know. Can I use slugs, or will that destroy the barrel?

Slugs wont destroy a barrel. They are made of the same lead that your pellets are.
