Has anyone ran slugs in the .25 cal. 250z yet? If you have what size did you have luck with? Thanks.
I’ve shot the grizzly’s too. You may find that you like them. I think that weight slug is my favorite in this gun so far. I get about 20fps better on the 31gr Franco slugs than the grizz.Sounds good I wanted to go this coming weekend but have to move my daughter, but I will be ordering some more slugs also I have more slugs to test that I haven’t shot and retest the ones that shot good. I was shooting 3 shot groups with the grizzly 31 g at 50 yards. They were all touching. I measured it. It was a 3/8 also the zan 33g it was 1/2 I am going to do five shot groups next and then stretch it out let me know. Thank you.
Really interested in those HBT slugs… I can already tell you at stock settings those will have the best speed by far. I’ve resisted trying any because I feel like 26gr is just a little light but I did order some 28gr Franco’s to get close. I’m not even gonna touch the reg. Just gonna toss them in and see how they shoot a 980/985fps.Yeah let’s all just share whatever data we get so we can get these things figured out in short order.I’ll do a couple groups of five different variations of .249 &.250 slugs i pulled for this round of testing. Then i’ll turn up the reg to 2500 (slug pressure) and repeat for comparison.I’ll start with the brands below.View attachment 565754
I had them for my avenger..They are supposed to be just like the FX hybrids i guessReally interested in those HBT slugs… I can already tell you at stock settings those will have the best speed by far. Saw that mag on air shootist and was going to order it but i might get the maple customs mag instead not sure yet.
Sounds good. I was thinking of those AEA how they would do gotta get some. Let me know. Yes, that would make sense hunting or on critters you would want that extra FPS I’m a paper puncture I am looking for accuracy, still have to do more testing only shot one 3 shot group all three shots were touching at 50 yardsI’ve shot the grizzly’s too. Yep that’s what I hear too. Supposed to be pretty good. Just a little lighter than I prefer. Which is why I’m gonna see how I like absolutely launching some 28gr…. With a flight time of less than 1/3 of a second to 100yards they should shoot super flat.I had them for my avenger..They are supposed to be just like the FX hybrids i guess![]()
I’ve seen that one too. I’m sure it’s good too. The stock ones are not bad at all but I already like this one better.Saw that mag on air shootist and was going to order it but i might get the maple customs mag instead not sure yet.
I saw someone shooting the aea 30gr and they said they were good. I only hunt so I can’t tell you which will group the best. Everything I’ve tried to group at 50y has done amazing once I learned how to use hammer spring to tighten my groups up.Sounds good. I was thinking of those AEA how they would do gotta get some. What range are you shooting to? If it’s 50y I’d probably still go lighter just because they’ll go fast and flat… if it’s 100y I’d try the 33gr apolo, 34gr H&N hp II, and maybe a 35gr NSA or something close. The 36gr do well in the video but to 100y+ you’re gonna have to rainbow them because your drop will be high… this gun will easily shoot slugs well around 850. I’m a lousy shot so I’ve tried to set my gun up to be as “point and click” as possible lol and I’ve come to firmly believe that 900fps+ is where it’s at for slugs. But that’s just my opinion. I’m excited to see what you figure out. Half the fun of this hobby is fussing over your tune and the other half is telling everyone how you fussed over said tune. Shooting is just a bonusYes, that would make sense hunting or on critters you would want that extra FPS I’m a paper puncture I am looking for accuracy, still have to do more testing only shot one 3 shot group all three shots were touching at 50 yards
That makes sense because some slugs like different speeds I will be trying that a little later on probably have to retest a lot of heavier slugs at higher FPSI saw someone shooting the aea 30gr and they said they were good. Yes, I wanna try those Apollo 33 grain. I tried looking for some, but they are on backorder. Everyone is out definitely I will have to adjust the rig higher and crank the hammer spring to do more testing thank you for your inputWhat range are you shooting to? Hammer spring isn’t gonna give you an fps boost until you get the psi way high. Mostly it just lets you open the valve better. Start with the HS flush and use the reg to get the speed you want. Then use the HS to fine tune and tighten up your groups.Yes, I wanna try those Apollo 33 grain. I tried looking for some, but they are on backorder.
