Slugs for a 30 FPE PCP?

I been reading fellow forums members experiences with slugs and have to admit it is exciting times in the PCP world. Come the warmer weather, I plan to try some yet to be determined .22 slugs. I believe I understand that the faster, within reason you shoot slugs, the better the accuracy? This question is for those of you who pest or hunt with .22 slugs, using PCPs in the 30-32 FPE range. What about shooting in barns, around equipment, in stalls, etc? Meaning closer in, sub-forty yard targets of opportunity, sparrow here, starling there, rat in the feed? Do you have a dedicated slug shooter? Are you using slugs and pellets interchangeably in the same gun? Or, do you bring a pellet shooter as well? Trying to figure out my approach. In warmer months my Bantam sends the JSB 18s at 890 FPS avg. for 14 FPE at 100 yards. If I can get the JSB .22 Cal, 25.39 gr. to 800 FPS for 20 FPE at 100 yards with good accuracy, I would be happy. But I would like to try lighter slugs for the fun of it. Any insights would be appreciated. At one particular dairy I can set up for 100 yard shots on pigeons. They won’t let me get closer they sit on the wire across a corn field. Other than that 90% of my opportunities are sub-sixty yards. TIA for your thoughts.

I don't know how much adjustability there is in the Brocock Bantam but I have my FX DreamPup .22 cal set-up to go from about 33 fpe down to 13 fpe. I am using the slug barrel and shooting the NSA 17.5 grain and Hades at high power. And then turn down the transfer port to low and hammer down to give me 13 fpe with the Hades for barn shooting. I have my scope turret mark at one level for the slugs and one for the Hades and just a zero sticker for low power on the top of the turret for point blank range shooting. As far as shooting the slugs around and in the buildings particularly at higher power I would not. More of a chance for ricochets with the solid chunk of lead and putting holes in the roofs. I just carrier one magazine with the Hades and one with the slugs. I will try to make a short video showing my turret label to show what I have done. Bill
