Slow-motion and Sound

Hello everybody,

I am brand new here but I have a question that probably has a lot of people stumped.

I have taken the plunge into a scope cam set up. I have purchased a Casio Exilim ex-zr200 and a scope mount. I also have a Canon g7x.

I have quickly realized you can't record sound when shooting over 30 frames per second with the Exilim.

My question is how do the big YouTube guys show slow-motion 240 fps video with sound?

My theory is that they shoot in 30 fps and slow the footage down during editing to get the sound plus the pellet flight.

If this is the case then cost aside, why aren't they using a camera like a Canon g7x that can shot full HD 60 fps in 1080p. (Also 4K but I'm not going to focus on that because I believe it only shoots 30 fps at 4K)

The footage would be higher quality with sound and the pellet flight would be smoother because you have twice as many fps to use in the editing process of slowing it down.

If I would have to sum up my post:

Are they recording using the exilim cameras at 30 fps to get sound and slowing down the footage with editing software to get the pellet flight?

Are they using the Exilim vs. Other cameras because they offer regular and high speed at an affordable price?

I would have to believe you would get better quality using a 60 fps full HD camera with sound and slowing that footage?

I understand that with the Exilim you do have the option to shoot in true high speed available; but if you also want sound what is the point.?

Thanks
Steve

The new iphones film at 240 fps with audio. When using a casio I think the audio would have to be added during editing. Just filming at 30 fps then slowing it down via film editor doesn't work nearly as well as using a hs camera. I tried that before getting a casio and the results weren't good at all. That's the reason I bought a casio ex zr 1000. But now slowing down the 240 fps with a film editor works great, but no sound.
