I use oil to check for air leaks. On or two drops of oil and air bubbles will show from the leak

Yep, soap solution is very searching, it readily seeps around threads, making it difficult to dry. For the cost of a can of proper leak detection spray, it really isn’t worth the risk using soap. Drilling out a rusty screw from a block is a Royal pain in the aris

I received a block (not impact) to repair today, someone has used a detergent solution to try an find a leak, although all the major parts are made from stainless, every one was corroded rock solid, it took several attempts of applying heat and penetration oil before I finally got them out. No damage done but completely avoidable.
