Sling on a Vulcan 2/ Uragan?

Don't have a picture, sorry, But I used a single point sling with my full size uragan a couple days ago. No sling stud, but the kind that has a cinch strap if that makes any sense. The cinch strap was through the thumbhole and around the top. Held the rifle fine, but I did take it back off when I went back to the bench, the strap just bugged me on the bench. Waiting on the boss. If she gets home soon I'll go put the sling back on and take a pic. The hardware (rings etc) are my only worry when it comes to pulling the strap tight and marring the gun.

I personally wouldn't trust the plastic bottle guard for sling use while walking around. Using the sling for stability while shooting, maybe.

Agree.

I will tie a paracord loop to the front of the scope rail,( never had an issue doing that) then either put a hole in the rear of stock and tie another one. That or just tie a loop around the stock near the rear. Or get a strap, that will fit around rear of stock. Paracord is my friend.

I have done similar slinging to my other bullpups. & no issuer at all. I carry the gun, under my right arm very comfortable & easily swings into action. Like the following photo of my Vulcan. You can do anything with paracord, then if you like where that is located you can do something more permanent. Paracord also acts as a silencer to the metal clips on the end of some slings. I don't care what is looks like I just want function, I can remove it when it goes on the runway,LOL I do have a Uragan, just have not got around to slinging it.

On my Veteran, I have a short pic rail with sling attaching hole built in, and it's attached with two machine screws into T nuts, it ain't going to move. I use the rail portion for a bipod, and attach the sling at the built-in hole in front. I just loop the rear of the sling through the thumb hole in the stock. I could attach a stud at the toe of the stock, or on the inside of the cutout, but really see no need.

This is how I sling my Uragan (standard). I didn't like any of my options to install sling studs or flush mount quick release sockets so reluctantly settled upon this. I hunt a lot and needed a hands-free option as I frequently use binos or range-finders while carrying a hunting tripod in the other hand.

I tied a loop of 550 paracord around the stock opening using a double-overhand knot (right over left, left over right - is that a granny knot 👵) and bought this Magpul MS3 Gen 2 Multi-Mission Single Point / 2 Point Sling from MidwayUSA. I originally made my own sling but felt this Magpul had more secure clips than my junk drawer spring clip. I'm using it in the single point config and am very happy I splurged and bought it. The clip has a lock feature so hopefully it won't ever open and drop my precious.

Yeah, I'm a little worried my paracord loop could fail at the knot so will keep an eye out for a better method or knot. This knot seems to not slip though and have tested it with significant weight, also put some spots of superglue at strategic parts of the knot to keep it from working loose.
