Sling Mount/Texan

Hey Fellas,

What is the best sling mount for the Texan. I've looked at the company product but am not so sure about them. Any other options?

What kinda rail does the Texan have underneath?

I've found information on bipods...but don't know what rail it would attach to and how.

I've searched online and nothing concrete. I've checked every gun store in my area and nothing.

Thoughts on the Talon Tunes handguard rail for mounting accessories?

I've got a few Texans, great hunting guns. My favorite is my .457 carbine and I'll show you pictures of what I did, pretty simple stuff but makes a difference.

I used an Uncle Mike swivel stud, screwing it through the whole on the buttstock (already there no drilling) and capped it with a low profile nut. I then covered it with a rubber butt pad sourced off Amazon. The forestock was an AR type quick release mount that attaches to the Picitinny rail, also sourced off Amazon. I think all up it cost me under $20.00.

Other things on this gun, that you didn't ask about but I like :) , are a rubberized pistol grip cover (yeah, Amazon), and a camo cover from George Wells that I used on the barrel, bottle, and front of scope.

I've carried this rig all over the place and abused it, everything is holding up just fine.

The front is not Uncle Mikes, it was sourced at Amazon. The rear, you can just go anywhere that sells the UM studs and make sure there is one in the package that is machine threaded with a bolt.I went back and copied the order information for you, its in that attached photo:

I soaked the butt pad in hot water, then stretched it over the butt until it fit. Hasn't come off, though you could hit it with an adhesive as well.
