Huben Slim Scope Selection

I got my Huben a month ago now and don’t have much need for my three others.
The Reximex is a fantastic gun, at least it has been for me. Then theres the Beeman 2027
and newly bought Crossman 1701 (which I don’t consider cheap $) I bought on a whim.
So red dots are what I had till the GK1. I desired some magnification, that’s where a discussion
on here stated scopes are unnecessary.
Searching the web yielded not much. A lot of guys use rifle scopes, doesn’t work offhand.
The selection is surprisingly scant. I first got a UTG 2-7 pistol scope that didn’t focus down to pistol ranges.
But it somewhat worked and I continued to look. I knew about a Burris 2-7 but dont know if it focused
inside of 25 yards or so. Late in my searches the Burris 3-12 popped up, it has adjustable objective
down to 25 yards. Not perfect at higher power, some shots in yard are closer but seems to be the
best true handgun scope available.

I use Athlon talos 3x12x40 on a couple mine. Working great for me.

Maybe an Athlon BTR 2-12x24 FFP under $200, weighs 16oz, pretty nice little scope.

We used to use Leupold pistol scopes but those are no longer made. The Burris is your best bet. According to the specs, they are parallax free at any distance. Otherwise, there are some good compact rifle scopes such as Optisan CP, GPO, or Veyron.

If you shoot a pistol offhand with arms extended, the red dot is a good choice. The long eye relief scopes that I have tried are difficult to use as the eye relief changes as the magnification increases and most have parallax limitations.

I have a TC 2.5-7 pistol scope with parallax “preset” at 50 yards. I am able to adjust the parallax by “unscrewing” the objective lens enough to focus at 10 yards. You can do this to many scopes with so called fixed parallax.

The biggest problem with magnification, for me anyway, is the increase in wobble zone. I would like to try a variable pistol scope with 1-4x but they are only available in the used market and are hard to find and parallax might be an issue as well. I have seen older pistol scopes with 1.3x and 1.5x that might be worth a try.

Most offhand pistol shooters, IHMSA shooter’s especially, use rifle scopes and the “taco” hold. I have tried this with not enough practice to become proficient.

Nice, but for me I’m not converting anything to a carbine.
finding the Burris 3-12 checked most of the boxes. I have been popping vermin using 8x and less and the 12 is good for 25 yard rested shooting

Guys now please don’t get mad and huffy with me ….
BUT do you read ? PISTOL SCOPE they are specific long eye relief
say about 10 to 20 inches
the Leupold 2.5-8 was their variable pistol scope, you can still find used but high $$
