Not a big deal by any means, and probably not really worth mentioning...but I will. I attached a bipod to my wood Avenger, and it wobbled some, side to side. Turns out the two small screws on the Picatinny rail were loose. I removed the 2mm hexhead screws and the Pic rail to see if there were inserts in there that would grab the screws with a little blue loctite added. Under the rail, where the small rear screw went through, was a flat washer with a 1/4" hole in it. Only one washer, and the 1/4" hole is way larger than the screw diameter. With the washer removed, the Pic rail recesses nicely and the screws snug up completely. No big deal for sure, just thought it was weird. Quadcab

If the whole for the screw is too big, remove it. Put some wood glue on a tooth pick. Stick the toothpick in the hole and snap it off or cut it flush with the stock. Put the screw back in. It will hold forever.

Thats not what I was trying to explain. There are metal inserts in the stock that these small machine thread screws tighten snugly into. I will either just snug them down as is, or use a tiny bit of locktite on each. I am just wondering what purpose the flat washer serves, and why was there only one? Quadcab

One screw goes into bottom of internal barrel band. Other uses a washer so it won't strip the wood. Take stock off and you'll get your answer.
