My Crosman 1701 Silhouette had a leak so I put balloons on the barrel & fill port. It was the fill assembly that was leaking. I removed the fill valve to replace the o'rings but I had to drill out the sinter filter at the end of the fill nipple to get the check valve out. Replaced the o rings & it's holding air fine now but is there something I can use to replace the sinter filter or should I just buy another fill nipple? Looking at all my PCP's I notice some have a sinter filter & some don't?

First, to get out the check valve you only needed to hook up air to fitting and apply some pressure, as the inner valve will pop out into a catch rag etc ...
If sintered filter is gone .. non issue leave it out but do use a cover over the fill fitting to keep debris out of the filler hole.

I've dumped plenty of sintered filter fosters and used regular ones. I just use a paintball foster cap and fill with a whip I put a Chinese cigarette filter end on.....just in case there's hose debris or anything. I haven't had any issues on any of my bottles or guns. I think that 8 bottles and 8 pcps.

Thank's for the info. I will remember to blow the check valve out with air next time. Old age is catching up with me!
