Single shot tray use

My Daystate magazine is not all that , It works now and again but for proper accuracy I only use single shot tray . The only magazine I have used that works really well is the HW100 magazine. They seems to work really really well and no damage to the pellet / slug at all ?? I dont think there are that many magazines that work 100% .. I could be wrong but I have not seen many at all ??

I was just thinking this very subject;I always thought a "magazine" would help me because I have large fingers and bad thumbs. I started to use the single shot trays that came with my guns and behold ,not so hard to load and I did shot better with them.....Why so?

Because it takes more time and I am more deliberate in my aim and follow through, shooting single shot is a plus for me in shooting more accurately. ps I have air guns on my mind too much of the time.

For all of my target and range shooting / zeroing I’ll use single shot trays. There is no rush for a follow up shot. On the bench with a pellet tin within reach it’s just cock, load a pellet or slug, rack, and shoot. Never having to stop stride to reload a magazine. When hunting l’ll use the magazines for the time advantage of quick follow up shot. I see no difference or accuracy advantage using either over the other. At least out of my now five FX pcp’s. Understood though, some can’t stand to single load.

In my mind it all depends on the mag and how complex it is. Some of them, like my old BSA Superten, are built like a metal sandwich where you have a front plate with a hole that the pellet must pass through, an identical plate on the back and the rotary part in between. It's no wonder that pellets can get skid marks on them as they rotate around between those plates.
Even the loading process can screw up your pellets.

On the other hand my FX Wildcat has a streamlined single piece magazine that's as clean as a single shot tray. Works great with no pellet damage at all.
