I think it depends on the application. If you plan to target shoot at high magnification, lines of a reticle of a SFP scope are much thinner at those high magnification levels. Most field target competitors prefer SFP scopes because they need to focus range at high magnification. If you plan to use various magnification levels, FFP makes a lot of sense. Even long range powder burners use FFP, but they are more concerned about field of view to quickly find that 1000 yard target, so they typically keep the magnification level below 20x, and they already know the target ranges. So the answer is, it depends. What do you plan to do?
