When you buy them from PA or AGD. I have much less expensive ones from EBay that get used every day with no issues. SS only! Then I have the one off my ShoeBox the blew apart. Go figure.

Correction. It was a AV microbore hose that had the female Foster on either end. It exploded at the connection of the SB at only 3500 psi.

And a bit more with tax and such when you walk in to AoA, so it appears the market rate is pretty well set.

I've always tried to grab them on Amazon Prime.
They usually go for a fraction of the price the other places sell them for.
Also - Keep an eye on the thread types that they're using..
They should be listed as either BSPP or NPT.
NPT for USA and BSPP for just about every other place in the world.
The two are not compatible / interchangeable, so just be careful when ordering.

This is one of my pet gripes with this industry and our suppliers. The price they charge for air hoses, fittings and o-rings is an embarrassment. I don't mind paying for good stuff and everyone is entitled to make a profit but in this case its just abusive. On an order a short time ago had a well known supplier include a couple of fill hoses. Didn't ask the price. These are my friends. 60.00 each. 120.00 for 2. Bought half dozen a while back imported and they were around 15.00 each. Ended up giving them away over time to friends in need and not one that I know of has failed. Just goes to show, always ask the price. Sylvan

In the grand scheme of things, 5000 psi to a piece of steel isn't much. Yield strength of mild steel is around 35,000 psi. If you had a fitting blow apart, it must have had a serious metallurgical defect such as a crack of an inclusion of some kind of foreign material.
