Simmons 2.5-7x28 handgun scope

I'm helping a friend take care of her dad's estate. This appears to be a unmounted in the box scope. Made in Korea. I'm assuming it's 10-20 years old based on his health in his later years. I can't find any information about it. I'm just trying to determine if it was a $50 scope or $200 scope when it was new. So far this lady has donated about $1000 worth of firearms stuff to our juniors club auction so I feel I need to make an honest effort to find it's value before gets rid of it.

I did a quick search and all the Simmons handguns Scopes in variable power are right around $100 brand new.

I have one on my Magnum Research Wolverine. Bought it new back in the day for $130. It’s a $75 used scope. It’s a good scope.
