Silver Weihrauchs?

Is there any significance to a silver Weihrauch? Is a silver HW30 BETTER than a blued HW30? Or is silver a limited edition? Perhaps made for use near the ocean where rust is possible? Or is it simply another option from the factory? And more importantly, do I need one? 🤣

Id guess being stainless its not going to rust up . My hw/R rust faster then any other brand for some reason , way faster like just in overnight fast. Pretty sad for the gun they are and pricing. I guess cheap blueing hw uses?
They are not stainless steel, just a plating on the same steel. They were available in the 35, 50 and 97, I believe.

Ya, i figured as much . I do have a nickel finish on a gun and its pretty durable vd blued.

Stole this from tap talk

"HW50S Stainless
Weihrauch HW50S Stainless
When environmental conditions are a big concern, or for those who prefer the all-weather look, the HW50S Stainless is the best option available in spring piston airguns. Based on the proven HW50S design, Weihrauch adds a resistant stainless metal finish to the action and a black synthetic finish to the stock. The end result is a durable finish and a beautiful overall appearance that will last.".

.....

True the blued looks better but its not so great protection on hw's . At least mine . Worse rusting guns i got. I should say the barrels bluing i get no rust but the receiver tube bluing is what gets rust bad. Thats funny seeing my sweating hands are always grabbing the barrel to cock.. go figure.

I guess if you decide the silver look dont do it for you you can spray paint it black ? Krylon overhaul..lol

I wanted one stainless so I got a 97 Blackline Stainless. To me I love it. It has destroyed a few tree rats, hates them. About 6+ months ago a 97 .20 cal. came available. It was blue laminate with stainless. Different but nice.
Maybe a year ago Air Guns of Arizona had some really nice stainless. I tried buying them but they wouldn’t ship to Canada, fair enough.
I prefer the blueing but nice to have a few stainless. Really like the 30 35 in stainless 50 would be sweet.
DualMagMike has one, an anniversary model Beeman I think 20 yrs. half stainless half blue. Very unique.
So my answer to you, you need one. Merry Christmas Crow

Hey Guys,
I own the HW35E and HW50S in "stainless" - it's really a metal "spray on" look, but actually is nickel. Kinda a satin nickel finish that almost looks sprayed on, but I'm sure it's bonded through some chemical process.

Both guns were harder to work on because the nickel finish makes for tighter tolerances on many metal fitting.

While they both look very good, I really prefer my blued ones more, with the nickel almost feeling like a "novelty".

Dunno. None of my HW have any rust. And I live in a swamp 30 miles from the Gulf. Mine were all purchased in the last 6 months so maybe they upped their bluing game.
Thats my situation close to the gulf , but i fight it on mine . Then like i said just surface of the tube between the breech block and scope rails and funny only them . I just put it under the i cant have nuttin nice category 😁. Just a head scratcher on why them but not the others. Its not like it prevents me from ever buying another .
