Crosman Silhouette first shots

Evening everyone,

I finally got my first shots on my new to me Sillhouette today. It’s got a two color dot sight on it and I used the green instead of the red. Using Crosman red tip pellets the gun is shooting high and left and I’ll take care of that but shooting for groups I couldn’t be happier. Starting at the max allowable 3000 psi I got 40 shots and dropped to 2000psi and got five round dime size groups when I held my hand very steady. This is a good one. I wonder what competition I can use this gun/sight combination in?

Rick,
The 1701 is shipped new with two TP’s.
One will give you 500fps (I think it is pink or red) and the most shots.
Perfect for air pistol silhouette (go figure).
The other TP (I think is blue) and that one will allow speeds approaching 700fps.
Hopefully you were given both.
I had a Williams rear sight on mine and it was great.

You will be very happy with your 1701. I have a scope on mine and from a tripod support using QYS training wadcutters at 30 ft in my basement I can cut cards on edge nearly every shot.

That's impressive. I will try it. I bet I take many shots per card. I will try this afternoon. Are you using wadcutters?

If you guys are not going to use your front sights, I would like one of them.
I can trade for the front sight package on my 2300S..
Just saying..

Mine is getting used. I have the rear Willams notch that I took off my 2300S when I replaced with a peep. Going to try it on the 1701. With my vision I might need another rear peep but we will see.
