Silent Thunder Ordnance Shroud Damper Installation Help FX Impact MkII .25

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience installing the Silent Thunder Ordnance Shroud Damper on a .25 or .30 FX Impact MkII. I have the 700 mm barrel and I just can't get the shroud to unscrew in order to place the damper even after using a lot of heat. In truth, I'm not sure I'm applying heat in the right place, but I'm assuming the threads are at the base of the tapered cone shaped area as shown from the STO website demonstrating placement of the damper on the FX Crown: https://www.silentthunderordnance.com/air/shroud-damper

That may be completely wrong on the Impact, but I have not been able to find any information about this, and any help would be greatly appreciated. 

I'm already using the Sarissa modifier from STO and wanted to go for max noise suppression if possible. I appreciate the science behind the technology being developed by STO- just want to get the full effect. Thanks!

A friend of mine has the first gen Crown, it has the shroud that extends to quiet down the shot fired. I had a pretty easy time extending the shroud, and then turning the shroud counter-clockwise to remove it from the barrel. I don't know how am Impact shroud is mounted, but I would be very reluctant to apply heat!! Before you go any further, try calling FX on Monday, or maybe someone will chime in here.

You should apply the heat to the tube where the threads are on the fitting. It has to get fairly hot before it will come loose. I had trouble getting the other end, which was damaged on my shroud, off and finally gave up and sent it to FX. Came back good to go. Good luck.

Thank you, @biohazardman. Is that the end that has the tapered portion of the shroud closer to the breech or the muzzle end? On the picture that's shown on the STO website for the FX Crown, it's closer to the breech. If so, that's the area I heated, but I couldn't get a good enough grip on the tapered area to get it to turn. Sorry for my confusion.

Both ends have locktight applied both are removed the same.
