Sightron or falcon

All field target related but......

I looked through both, and bought the Falcon X50. They both are pretty clear, and should be for scopes in the $800-1200 range.

I went with the X50 for two main reasons. First was that with the SIII for each yardage I was ranging, there was a small window of travel of the wheel (kinda clear, clear, kinda clear) for each distance. For the X50 (FT version) there is no window of travel where it's clearish, there is just a distinct CLEAR or not. It's either in focus or it's not. (Small depth of field maybe this is called?) Second reason was exactly what you stated, couple hundred $ less for the X50.

Illuminated was a non-issue, it actually saves you a couple ounces in this comparison.

Out to about 18 yards my X50 will range by focus down to the foot. I can tell 12 yards and 1 foot from 12 yards and 2 feet. It ranges more accurately than my Nikon laser rangefinder.

Multiple field target matches with zero misses since I bought the Falcon, none before.

I got my X50 from Krales last summer for long range shooting. The clarity is amazing a full power range. I just have a single comment, I got myself a T (target) model and trying now to find the zoom/power wheels (like a Field ranging wheels) that doesn't cost my kidneys and a liver, no aftermarket support on these. If you think you would have a good use for these wheels grab the FT version *wheel included) for couple bucs more.
