Sighting in my new Weihrauch HW30 .177 Urban Pro today

First post to the forum. I've been shooting for decades but I'm new to quality air rifles. After weeks of researching the web and Youtube I settled on the Weirauch Urban Pro in.177 cal.

I'm sitting on a few secluded acres but I wanted something extremly quite more than needing more power/noise. I bought a Hawke Vantage 2-7x32 for the extra magnification and its mil-dots which I've grown to rely on throughout today's sighting in session. I set targets at 60ft, 100ft and 125ft. Within the first series of 5 shot groups I had the dope set and haven't changed it throughout the day.

I shot 10.34 grain Exact, 7.33 Exact, and 6.9 RWS super H points. I'd say the 7.33's gave me the best all a round accuracy from all distances.

Gorgeous little rifles

im still trying so decide between the 30 or 35.

Hey,

Not sure what the model 35 is or how it handles, but I can say that if you decide on the Urban Pro model as I did, it may be cheaper to source both the rifle and scope separate. I bought my Urban Pro through Airguns of Arizona and asked if I could upgrade the scope. They wouldn't allow it saying that the Urban Pro is only sold as a unit with the advertised scope. The Hawke Vantage cost me another $109.99 through Amazon added to the $543.33 for the Urban Pro from Airguns of Arizona. I never opened the 4 power HW scope that comes in a separate sealed package/box inside the main box the rifle came in, I immediatly mounted the Vantage and never looked back.

Congratulations! However, I would reword your original post to say...

"After weeks of researching the web and Youtube I settled decided on the Weirauch Urban Pro in.177 cal."

You chose wisely. A very fine air rifle and a favorite of many airgun enthusiasts. Including myself. You also chose a great scope for the 30, your research and shooting expertise is showing with these choices and your target results.

By the way, you must have a lot of confidence in your shooting as it appears you have a classic car in the building you're using as a backstop. 😉

cea1960,

A word smith I'll never be, but I do possess the skills learned as a Marine marksman many moons ago. Since those early days I've kept up my range time. I was sold on the rifle combo as soon as I watched a YouTube video by a guy who made a lengthy video shooting from a picnic table similar to the one I shoot from. His review was enough to sell me on it. I made the scope choice the same way, reading all I could find from fellow spring gun shooters. The car, a 1957 Chevy, was not harmed in the making of my review nor was it in any real danger ;-).

My thoughts also cea1960, one fizzer of a flyer and you could have a problem or at least a dent considering the power level of the 30. Lol

But jokes aside Yardboss you’ve got a pretty little rifle there that looks like it’s shooting very well.

Windmill01,

Thanks! So much fun to be had with one easy pump! I can't believe I've been pumping up that old crossman 760 10 pumper for over 20 years!

It appears to me that the scope is mounted 90 degrees off. Do you just like it that way or what is the purpose? Thanks

Deerstalker,

Great eyes my man! Last night while wiping it down, I unscrewed the elevation and windage caps and realized my mistake in mounting it!

Needless to say I'll be rotating the unit 90 degrees next outing...

About 100 years ago I fired the M1 expert when I was in the Marines. Also the 57 Chev is my all time favorite. You have a beautiful rifle that will last a lifetime. Pic of my HW95L.

Semper Fi & Good luck!

Deerstalker,

Ha! Yeah sure does feel like 100 years ago! For me it was in 1975 at Parris Island where I first qualified Marksman with the M16A1, soon after qualifying with the 1911A1. I still get plenty of range time with similar weapons. And yes, I’ve always been partial to the 57 Chevy!

BTW, beautiful rifle and optics you have, the stock looks amazing!

Semper Fi, brother.

Glad to hear that you’re going to rotate the Hawke scope. It will make your life easier. I know that after about 1,000 rounds, when that Weihrauch is broken in, you’ll like it even more. Your rekord trigger is among the best on a springer and very adjustable (YouTube is your friend) and there are set back triggers for the rekord that I have installed on all of my Weihrauch sporters. Great improvement
