Sidewinder trigger

After some days of shooting exclusively the Sidewinders I took the Vulcan 3 .30 Cal.

The trigger of the Vulcan 3 now feels exceptional and I achieved better accuracy.

The effort to pull correctly the trigger on the Sidewinder is an excellent exercise profitable while shooting the other rifles.
I'm starting to get use to it. I have to watch out because it works itself to in-between and gun fires but not correctly.

Have you ever tried a Blitz trigger? The first time I did it was so far beyond what I thought I could learn to control that I had no hope of ever shooting decent groups with the Blitz. However, like you, although with a trigger is probably many times worse than that on the Sidewinder, I would imagine, I got to the point where I did OK. And yes, the "good" triggers seemed ever so much nicer after using the Blitz.

As stated in other posts on AGN, despite the horrific trigger, my Blitz shoots very well in semi auto. Below are some photos. They were all shot at 15 yards, indoors from a rest, 20x scope, CPHP pellets straight out of the tin. Fired for group size not for scoring. On the mag dump, I held the trigger down until it was empty - 21 Shots. I think part of the reason I can do OK with it, is that it is a very heavy rifle so it doesn't move around as much as a lighter one.

I am learning to make it work, but I really don't care for it - it just seems crazy to me, with the highest effort at the start and then less for a bit. In truth I like the trigger on it much better in full auto position, as it works more conventionally - but it is hard to always let off it fast enough to only get one round off (I'm successful probably 70% of the time).

If it was my main shooter I would do fine with it, but it is not - my Huben is, mostly because it has a much better trigger and is much quieter and more refined in shooting (I did switch to the LDC adaptor and run a Huma Compact on the Sidewinder, and that made the report a lot quieter, but I find the action itself to be very loud). Mine is a .22, and I have tuned it down to shoot Hades pellets at 850 fps for about 25 FPE - it is much quieter at this level, but still a lot louder than the huben shooting 18.1s at 930 fps for about 35 FPE, or 40% more power.

I've seen nothing on modifying the Sidewinder, other than the moderator adaptor - and related to it the idea of an aftermarket CF tube that can be cut to length to replace the stock one, as it is difficult to seperate the factory tube and moderator without damaging them. That is what I did for mine. Here is the right tube from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09X1HNWH6?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details

I have been considering putting some sound deadening mastic - like the kind used in car audio systems - on the sides of the action to see if it would quiet things down some, but don't want to risk cosmetic damage to the gun.

I would be open to other mods, especially ones that quiet the gun down - I'd love to try to run it at higher power with slugs, but don't want the noise . . . .

Same,

I used
nothing. No way to do any work on gun yourself unless you just do and come what may.
