Side Wheel (Parallax) Labeling

I am 3D printing my own side wheel for an older AEON scope, and needed to get some opinions: Do you think these labels will work well:

Rangesports out of the UK has some nice lable options, but I am unable to find a source for them stateside.

It says the label size is " 13mm wide x 8mm Length "

13mm is over 1/2" so they might be a bit wide, unless you have a pretty big wheel

I use a program called Scopeknob. You can vary font size and font to your liking.

The scope wheel will be printed to .5" so some trimming might be required. I will take a look at scope knob, thanks for the tip.

A do it yourself customizable label making program.

I mark my own tape. It's the easiest way I've found for me, especially if you ever want to try different height rings or move the scope forward/backward... Yeah I get a little crazy sometimes. Point is that you have to mark the yardage points yourself anyway... software to make a printout or a manual tape...

addertooth shows white pinstriping material. Never thought of that myself. I use 'spike tape'. no clue what the name even means but its a plastic coated cloth tape. Doesn't stretch or shrink as I've have some colored electrical tape do. It's cheap, large roles (for plenty of redo's) .5 or .25 " width and easily obtained on amazon (yeah. i'm an amazon junkie too).

How close is the scaling on your tape?

I 3D printed a side wheel for my scope, and tried to hand write the yardages onto a tape, but the numbers really started to pile up at the longer ranges starting about 35-yards. I will be printing a 6" wheel this weekend and see if I can manage to scale the tape a bit better so as to not have the numbers stack so close together.

...not sure what you mean by scaling but both range and click values are accurate.

The tape and marks had to scaled to fit the circumference of the wheel to read properly. How was this accomplished? I fielded my rifle yesterday and marked my locations on my wheel with tape and an ink pen, how does this get transferred to a nice printed tape properly?

Marked the proper ranges on the scope wheel tape.... removed tape and measured distances between marks precisely and transferred to a Photoshop file..... added the corresponding click values. Works very well.

How do you do that using photoshop

I put white gaffers tape on the UTG parallax wheel that fits OK on my Athlon 6-24. A cut up gift card in the scope rings is my pointer. Very crude versus the ones you guys use but it works.

That's a really nice looking field target wheel job you've done there. Very precise. That should really help you when gaging the distance. I just recieved a wheel and want to set it up that way. The indicator,where do I buy it. It mounts to the scope and has a line indicating the yardage,where do I get one?

Rowan engineering via AOA has labels very nice size
