Side-shot/Orion/Firefly 8se issue

I just setup my side-shot with the Orion adaptor and got a firefly 8se. The setup is great and I’m excited to use it but the camera will not save my settings when I turn it off. It reverts to the default settings. The time and date are retained correctly. That makes it about useless. Am I missing something when saving the camera settings?

It should just save the settings and retain the values, I've never seen any of the 8se doing that. I think it's defective
