Side arm

Does anyone else carry a side arm when hunting with your Pcp. I tote a Keltec pmr30. I take it for snakes and such that might be awkward shooting close up with a scoped rifle. I took a Ruger Blackhawk .44mag with shot shells for a while but it was much too heavy. 
If so, what do you take along.

177 P17 I bought three of them for my self , Perfect snake guns,
Just shoot them In the head , My first P17 I bought has killed over 200 rattlers and maybe 50 rabbits.
I sent them out as Christmas gifts last year to my two brothers and son in law.
at 35 dollars ,just a super deal.

My "sidearm" is bear spray. I'm not likely to see a bear where I hunt, but there are lots of free-range cattle. Mostly harmless, but we've surprised each other before and I suppose they're protective of their young.

Check your local laws guys. I know carrying a sidearm when hunting is subject to specific rules here in NC. Don't want anyone to get in trouble. My opinion is since I have a CC permit, I SHOULD be able to carry any time, but the laws are the laws and I don't want to run afoul of them just yet.

Im glad wv passed the constitutional carry it goes into effect in June but I also have a cc permit

My Ruger LC9S Pro if I had to choose a light auto loader. My Ruger Vaquero .357 six-gun if I worried about more than just snakes. Mike has killed over 200 snakes!? I have seen a dozen in the wild all my life, lol.

A 2000+ fps 2,500+ fpe 500 S&W. Good for everything from snakes (point in general direction and pull trigger) to bear. That's a .30 JSB for size comparison. "Go big or go home".

not allowed to hunt with or carry a sidearm here in Ontario or anywhere else in Canada but I do take a marlin 44 1894 if there are big critter issues in the area lol
265 or 300gr hard cast Ranch dog bullets will drop anything alive!
