Should the shroud be sealed/air tight or vents or holes in it ?

Either is fine. Vent is quieter, but will also vent lead dust. Plenty of guns have either.

So vented to the rear of the shroud ? Hole or holes in the tubing or in the base cap ?

If you look at the hajimoto'd gauntlet 1 you'll see that they would be vented with 3 holes about 2" from the rear.

I did the magic eraser trick on my P35 shroud. It really helped dissipate the felt air from the shroud vents. And I don’t feel like it’s spraying lead dust all over my left arm.
