Crosman Show me how you moderated your 3622?

Hi Friends,

Enjoying my el cheapo 3622, hope you are too. My only problem is I've yet to figure out a good way to moderate this gun. It's almost like they built it so you can't given the foster fill port.

Can you show me how you moderated yours? I'm out of ideas beyond cad and 3d printing something myself.

Nibs on YouTube “Walnut and steel” put a shim at the barrel band and picked up about 1/8” more clearance. Also, he did not put the moderator all the way on. He shows you on the video. Hope you get it right for you.

I just bought a moderator from Airgun Mods its made for the 3622 & works perfectly. It’s also very small so it looks like it came with the rifle

Thanks for this info gramps, that's the sort of mod o was thinking about 3d printing. Good to know something is out there now to quiet this gun.

Just curious what pellet everyone has had good luck with in their 3622? I've not found anything that I've been happy with accuracy wise yet on mine.

I have been using lead free, but the info from posts and reviews is:
JSB 18s
JSB jumbo express
JTS 16.08 (Nibs)
CPHP okay with occasional flyer
Some of these results are for short range and some up to 25 yards.

For 2000psi fill, the first four shots are off. Then they get about 25 to 30 quality shots before the speed and accuracy drop off.
For lead free, I have settled on H&N Baracuda Green 12.96g and Preditor GTO 11.75g., but might change after I try distances beyond 20 yards.

I have the moderator off mine right now & the front blade back on. I use a 18” braided hose to extend the fill hose on my compressor, the fitting on the end is pretty bulky & it fits without issues. Here’s a photo of my hose next to a ruler maybe that will help you determine if your pump will work.

@Gramps Thank you for that. Mine has the moisture filter right behind the fitting, so I will probably need a 45 degree fill port to get it to work. I have been too busy to start, but will try to work on it this week. Thanks again for the photo.

@NorCal David you could also use an extension hose like I do, would be a few more pumps to get it filled wit air. I got it so I could have the gun higher than the pump to help keep moisture out of my guns.

Here's a picture of my 3622 with the AGM moderator & fill hose. The moderator direction say to put it an inch onto the barrel, it's a tight fit so I hthink that as long as the set screw can touch the barrel it would be okay which would gain about 1/2" more room for the foster connector..
