When I first got into airguns I started with .35 cal thinking it was going to be a good mix of not too big like a .50 cal (this was back in 2017) and not too small like a .308. What I found was that the .35 cal sits in this weird spot in the airgun world where you really need to understand the terminal performance of your ammo. Ya gotta remember that 200 FPE is still the same as a .22LR high velocity firearm ammo. But FPE doesn't tell the full story either. A .35 inch hole in an animal is more lethal than a .22 inch hole, but penetration is the bigger consideration when you start getting above anything bigger than a raccoon.
