Shipping anything with compressed air is subject to a carrier’ regulations, check with your carrier

Every PCP I ordered was fully charged with air from the dealer.......I won't purchase used!

Shipping full-charge during the summer is dumb, you're knowingly overpressurizing 10 psi per degree F once it gets to the outside temps in the unrefrigerated vehicles.

Most carriers and post offices would probably prefer tanks to be depressurized for shipment. Pressurized air tanks aren't going to pop just because they go up in a plane and the air pressure in the airplane's hold drops by 12psi compared to ground level. It' a very broad and conservative approach which covers all kinds of pressurized containment systems items, like camping stoves with propane cartridges.
Even though pressurized tanks with non-volatile and non-toxic contents should be safe from failure and leakage problems due to changes in pressure due to altitude, the ones with volatile substances can be extremely dangerous in a fire. I can't think of a situation where a pressurized and well packaged airgun would pose a physical danger during transport. Even the large 5' tall and heavy steel pressurized gas tanks are usually very safe in extreme physical conditions of outside pressure and temperature. When they fail it's usually because they fall over and physically snap the exposed valve sticking out the top. An airgun in a shipping box should be safe from physical impacts like that.
Whether pressurized or not, I also think that airguns should be shipped unloaded and with empty magazines just like firearms.

Clearly you'll have never bought air gun,if u take all the air out,u can hurt the o rings,and value. It's good to keep a Lil in it. Nobody said full.

Degassing and air gun should not hurt anything at all. It happens all the time when regulators and other internal parts are replaced.. I agree that keeping some pressure in an air gun is safe for shipping. Though again the rifle should not have any pellets or magazines in it when it is shipped.

Airguns are made to be gassed and degassed... removing the air does not harm the airgun. Removing the air does not increase or decrease the value.
Typically it's only older airguns with old dry/brittle rubber seals that fail after depressurization.
However, most of us do like to receive our toys with a little pressure in them, just so we know it holds air.

I always ship with about 30% air and ground service UPS or FedEx. Never had a problem. And I can take a photo of the gauge and send it to the buyer so they know it’s not leaking when they receive it

Never fully charged .. but always have returned customer PCP's with @ 50-75% fill on board.
