Should I just saw the damn stock off?

Hi,

Quick question. I really like the FX Independence and the FX Indy. However, I really do NOT like the "butt" part of the stock. Looks so weird and ugly. Anyhow, I am wondering if there is an "easy" fix to this? I googled to see if someone makes an after market stock for the Indy, but I did not find anything. I also did not find any "mods" for it. So here is my idea:

A. I just say it off and attach a different butt to it.

B. I have a friend with a huge machining shop, and he has build customs stocks for AK-47's before. So I know he could make me one out of pretty much any material I wanted to... (the one for the AK-47 was made out of wood).

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I already wrote an entire paragraph on how I imagined to make this work, and how blah blah blah... when I suddenly came to my senses, ha ha. What the heck am I thinking?! Why not just get the FX Independence instead? Believe me, I love fuzzing with stuff, and I am always looking for a challenge, but not if it has been done already. Unless the FX Indy is way "better" than the FX Independence or brings some serious advantages over the later, why get the Indy so I can then make it look like the Independence?

I know too little about both guns so I am just going to call a dealer tomorrow and see what they say...

Thanks.

P.s. can a mod delete my post. : )

"NMshooter"If you have any desire to sell it in the future you might want to deal with the looks. Making that mod might reduce the value of the rifle significantly.

Doc
I saw your post after I posted mine...

Even though I am to 99.99% sure, that I am not going to go for it anymore, I would say it all depends on the "new look". I wouldn't be surprised if a custom stock would actually increase the value of a gun. Am I wrong?
