Should I clean & lube slugs?

Aloha guy's, I was hoping to get some input on some questions I have.

1.should I clean and lube slugs? 

2.what's the best pellet/slug lube?

3.can I use 3 in 1 Silicone oil for pellet/slug lubricant?

1- If the slugs are dirty then clean them if not I would not bother.

2- You will get many answers to that question as people swear by loads of different lubes.

3- Nothing wrong with silicon oil it is what I used for quite some time and it really cut down on my barrel cleaning. I am shooting the NSA slugs now and they come already lubed.

Years ago on the Yellow Forum people tested lube on pellets / bullets. And what supposedly came out on top was Slick 50 #1 lube. They say it actually increased fps. by a few feet per shot.

It comes in an spray can , and I just shoot a quick shot on all my projectiles.

On a funny side note. I went to one of Gary Barnes bigbore shooting events back in the early 2000's. And he had all of his bullets swimming in a pool of motor oil!

I use silicone spray. I couldn't find it last time home so I used silicone oil with PTFE. 

Slugs were super accurate as always.

I got a couple boxes of slugs last week from a top slug maker (will remain nameless) I had to wash the lightest ones 5 times and the heavier ones 3! I inspected them and the lighter ones had all these little shavings in the hollow point. So much so that I am not going to shoot them. I sent pick so they could see. I lube with Slick 50 #1. Less cleaning I did notice more speed? donno
