Should I be concerned about a PA pellet order?

We all know how PA ships pellets. It should be the industry standard really. But these are coming from Airgun Depot and I've had some messed up pellet orders from them before I stopped ordering from them. I know PA owns them but are they now following the Pyramyd Air pellet packing procedure PAPPP :) lol? Wondering if they will come mashed like some I got from them in the past?

@MACTEN To my understanding @PyramydAir does not own @AirgunDepot. They are described as “sister” companies. I wouldn’t fret about your pellet order coming out of Airgun Depot’s Draper, Utah warehouse. This isn’t common practice in my experience, but it does happen on occasion. Be thankful that you found what you needed to order. If anything arrives damaged I suggest going through the procedures you’d regularly use to report damaged packages. You should be fine.

As for damaged tins, I’ve received orders from many vendors and they are all susceptible to a poor packing job once in a while. A consistently poor packing job will understandably drive customers away especially if items have been on back order for a while. Give these folks a shot and if you try to resolve issues with damaged good arriving and it’s a consistent problem, I think it’s fair to alert the airgun community in the “Manufacturer Feedback” forum. Sometimes companies and their representatives respond to posts there and will take things a step further to help customers work through problems. Usually their first line in the resolution process are customer service reps. They aren’t always able to resolve issues with us. This is where persistence pays off.

Thanks for your counseling lol. I was actually just curious if anyone had received damaged pellets when PA shipped with their "sister" company. A search found that others have. Packing pellets correctly would eliminate reports of damaged pellets and the need to report damaged packaging through a well know common procedure.

I've received PA orders from both PA and AGD locations. So far, no damaged tins from either. Then again, AGD is about 15 minutes from my home.

As for ownership, if memory serves, both are owned by a holding company, so while they are separate entities, they share many resources to keep their costs down.

Oh to be 15 minutes from a large airgun store! I used to be 45 minutes from Airgun Express before they were bought out and closed down. Did you actually order them from 15 minutes away? No pickup there? I would be surprised if you got damaged ones from PA being shipped.

Every pellet order I've ever received from AD was packed SOLIDLY & beautifully. A couple I've received from PA were ridiculously damaged. I didn't stop buying from either one because I know sh-t happens. Guess it's all luck of the draw (& who's packing that day!)

Edit.. They are shipping to you at distance like me (or used to until they damaged a bunch of orders) And good on you for being the one who never had anything damaged from AD!!! Congrats!

I figure why worry. If something comes damaged, PA always makes it right. I've gotten a few orders packed IN their foam, delivered in a spotless box with no outer damage and still got bent tins, so they got packed that way before they ever even left the PA warehouse. That fancy foam means nothing if the guy in the warehouse stuck already dented tins in it.

Can't honestly say anything about their sister company AGD since I can't remember the last time I ordered anything from them.

Getting a shipping company to pick up here on my schedule is spotty. I have back problems that flared up recently. Pellets are heavy in numbers. Here's to hoping the AD treats these pellets like PA. I started this thread because I won't order from AD due to multiple order/shipping/customer service problems I've had with them in the past. Not trying to slam them it's just a fact. It appears at least 2 people have had a good experience with AD semi-recently and some even offered helpful and hard to have figured out on my own, methods for dealing a company who sent poorly packed products. If AD has changed at least in the shipping department? Hooray

While not a clue how AGD handles damaged pellet tins should you have any, PA's reply to my email and pics showing the damaged tins I received (6 were) was to tell me to just keep the damaged ones and they'd ship out new ones at no charge to me.

Might well be wrong saying this but I'd think AGD being their sister company will do the same thing should you have problems.

Keep us posted on how things turn out for you.

I will let everyone know. Hoping they aren't damaged. However, they seem to be en-route to someone on the other side of the country right now. They went past me sometime in the night and are hundreds of miles away going the wrong direction. They are using fed-ex which I regard as my #3 delivery company out of the big 3. It's like ordering a fairly delicate item from someone you normally trust and they tell you they are having the cross-eyed kid pack them and the crack head deliver them.

MAC,

From one good guy to another, try ZAN's Projectiles in Slovenia, just click on yellow scrolling flag at page top. For bulk orders (4 or more) tins, the shipping costs become a non-issue. Packaged safer than anyone else, quick shipping with DHL, just saying. WM

I'm seeing a lot about Zan lately. I have been looking for slugs for the .25 and .30..
