Should I be ashamed/embarrassed?

So, I've had my Royale 500 about 4 years & my Boss a little over 2. I'm almost embarrassed to admit it but I've never used the power wheels & I've never had them taken apart. They're PERFECT for me in every way & have been from day one. Not even curious about the lower power on the Royale & all I've EVER had to do is periodically lubricate moving parts & run some patches through every 1,00 shots or so. Am I lame or missing something by not even being curious about getting into the internals of these guns? Tore ALL my past guns down & modded & reassembled them but for now, don't EVEN want to take the chances of messing with the perfection of either one of them. Should something go wrong I'm confident I could tear them down & repair but, so far, NOTHING wrong with them. Why do I feel like I'M doing something wrong?

Sounds like being perfectly smart to me.

Never ever touch anything unnecessary when the guns are already shooting perfect it may only get bad once it's already perfect and good possibility accuracy won't be as perfect too.

Those platforms are more set and forget. If you want to do some things there a couple you can do but for the most part they're ready to go.

Shooting on the other powers is a lot of fun and you get more shots. I didn't know the Boss had a wheel. My 500's and 400 shoot great on all powers. I have never cleaned my barrels after thousands and thousands of shots. Only changed a breech o ring in the 400. Got my 1st 500 in 2011 and the 400 last March.

Bad JuJu to mess with a perfect gun. That is why I am constantly tuning for 10,000 rounds cuz I never leave well enough alone even when it's perfect.

OK, so I guess I'm unwittingly SMART! @SDellinger, you're correct, Boss does not have a power wheel. Just mistakenly said "wheels". I WON'T futz with them.

I have a Cricket and a Wildcat. Both are first gens and purchased new. The Wildcat I adjusted the trigger, the Cricket absolutely nothing. Both are amazing guns. I can't see trying to improve or fiddle with something that doesn't need it. 

Embarrassed no way, I would be flaunting it.

No need to be ashamed. Do what works. I balanced out the reg, and hammer on mine so that going to a small port and min. hammer gets me 650fps on the 380mm barrel, and wide open on hammer and port gets me 960fps on the same 380mm barrel, 22 cal. Has pinpoint accuracy on both settings, plus a very quiet report as well. A well balanced tune will usually be pretty quiet, and most importantly, supremely accurate.

Shooting at close ranges does not need anything more than 650 fps, and nearly triples my shot count.

I dropped a lot of time, air, and lead into the initial tune when I got the gun in July of 2019, and have not touched the tune since. The power and port wheels, yes. I even have a spare hammer tension adjuster, so I can remove the original, and fool with the secondary one, so I never lose that pre-set. But I havnt even fooled with the secondary hammer tension adjuster or even installed it.

As I recall, you shoot rather well with that piece. Don't mess with it! Embarrassed; maybe by others in awe of what you and you gun can do but not you being embarrassed. That just shouldn't happen.

Gerry, I'm the embarrassed one here. I've had my FX500 for a little over a year and didn't even notice the power wheel on it? LOL After reading your post had to open up the case and take a look! LOL Yup, sure enough big ol' dial would have bit me if it was a snake! I'm too busy lookin' through the crosshairs to notice such stuff?

Uh, yeah, da Boss and da 500 are shootin' too good to mess with!

The 500's got a .25 Czech sister coming to keep her company tomorrow. Gonna be fun to see how they stack against each other.

Heck, I didn't even have to take it out of the case? Could have looked at my pics? Maybe I knew it was there and just forgot about it, because I have no need for it?
