Shortening LW Barrel

I just installed a 24" LW barrel on my Talon P to change it into a rifle. I'M thinking of shooting cast bullets in it and looking for advice on shortening the barrel to remove the choke. I've heard choked barrels don't like cast bullets. If this is true, how much do I need to cut off to remove the choke?

Push a pellet or slug through it and see where you encounter bore tightening. You could even leave it in while cutting to show exactly how far.

Think it’s like 1 to 2 inches of the LW barrel end is choked, looked it up awhile ago because I was thinking of cutting down a barrel I had, like mentioned in other post just take a wood dowel and push a slug through it and mark the dowel where the resistance starts and compare it to the outside of barrel, should be close to 1-2 inches if I remember right.

My Talon P with the original 12" barrel is an EXCELLENT slug shooter. I use 52 grain NOE and .25 ACP slugs with great success at 100 yards!

You do not need to remove the choke to shoot cast or swage slugs

I know of several Talon P's that shoot the slug very good and they 

have clocked barrels , you just need to find the right slug for your gun .
