I just managed killing my "shoot through hole style" chronograph after some 4+ years of relationship.

I had many style in the past 15 years, sometimes multiple units in same time, so I got some refined preferences.

I don't want to have any box style that I need to build a shelter above the sensors, I don't want to attach to a barrel …something relatively small and simple with a larger screen, that can show me a string of let say 6-10 shots, eventually android compatible.

This last one was an IR (infrared) shot through but apparently too small hole

but overall not bad performer for $60 from amazon and lasted me really several K shots over 4 years tuning my bottle regulators and airguns. I may try some US (ultrasound) box. I like the FX chrony design standing below the barrel on a small tripod, but for that same price I buy 6 of these I just destroyed yesterday. Eyeing the Labradar but kind of steep price tag out of my reach. I see couple nice looking new units in EU.

I know from my own pocket that no one chronograph cannot be more precise then the other (or which one to trust more), also if we would line up 5 units in front of the gun no two will show the same numbers. This marketed "precision" is really irrelevant, I want to get a string shot with comparable deviation on display.

Anybody can chime in?

Beside FX and labradar...any other with bluetooth or wifi?

One that I found with Bluetooth when I was looking was the Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX. I think you can get the Bluetooth module separately and use on some of their other models, but I could be completely wrong on that.

After all the looking around and deciding between, price, accuracy, size and portability, etc... I went with the FX. I'm glad I did. I like that I can attach it to the barrel and I can move between targets, up/down/left/right, and I never have to worry about where the chrono is. I also love that I can throw it in my range bag, and don't have to lug something else around. I don't have to worry about finding a spot on the table to put it on, or put another table in front of my table, or another tripod, etc. It was more expensive, but I picked up a used one for a bit of a discount, and I could not be happier. Probably one of my favorite purchases.

I shoot a lot indoors, so, I needed something that I could use day / night..
Back before the FX chronographs were readily available - so I went with a Competition Electronics ProChrono DLX.
I also added on the indoor IR lighting system. The setup works awesome! [And links to their phone app via BT]
Aside from a great product, I had an odd question, called the company, and was given some fantastic customer service.

All that said - With all that's been going on here in NY - With them forcing us all out of work,
The above mentioned setup will probably end up in the classifieds section sooner than later.

Cash for food is starting to win out over possessions that rarely get used. *Sigh*

For more than 20 years I have relied on an Oehler 35 P. Yes, it is old technology but the secondary proof channel makes a huge difference in the accuracy of its readings no other modern day, low cost chronographs can provide. Hand loading for powder burners it saved me a lot of $ by allowing me to choose the most consistent powders / charges for calibers ranging from 458 Lott to 223's, including various Ultra Magnums at more than 3300fps. With PCP/s I have been able to check velocities for 22's, 25's and 30's without questioning the readings. With the previous caveat, if you can find one at a good price and conditions you might be able to accurately test your airguns, velocity wise. Good shooting!
