*~*~ Shoot'N Table .... Portable Lite Weight.... Not Homemade!

I bought this portable folding bench at the Harrisburg PA Outdoor show 3 years ago. These are made by a guy in a western state and he sells out at the show every year. He makes table top versions as well. I’m sorry but I don’t know his name or the name of his business. He said these are very popular with the prairie dog hunters out west.

I like the design that leatherman posted - at least for sighting in and "hunting" in a narrow field, but if it doesn't swivel it's not much good for 'real' varminting. It's a tough bill to fit, and I've never found the perfect thing (and I have machine tools, saws and welders) but the best I've seen is a round table with a stool that spins around it - been meaning to make a 'slice of pie' version of that for quite a while.

Is the

Caldwell Stable Table Lite

Below URL: One of the better configurations? Has anyone used this for a quick sight in Jus' Prior to a shoot.

Might there be any others to consider?

I have that unit and like it a lot. Certainly other options exist but I like this one because I can carry it in one arm with little effort and the table and seat are an attached unit. Probably not as stable as some heavier units but for the combination of relatively light weight and portability it's good IMO.

Who is Towle / design... I don't seem to see it? This indeed is tough and a swivel seat would be nice... maybe a Caldwell type w/swivel all in One fold-able

My bad! I was referring to Leatherman's post - for whatever reason, in the nightmare of my mind, I conflated Leatherman with "Towle" - who is a prolific, and knowledgeable poster in the Leshiy2 thread. My apologies to all parties. My response was directed at the table posted by Leatherman.

I have two of those Caldwell’s. Light enough to pack up and load in the truck. Takes a little thinking to fold it back up the first couple of times.
A little fiddly to assemble, but nothing too bad. When you assemble it, give a little extra snugging to all the factory locknuts. The ones on the seat legs were letting the detent ball pop out of lockup, but was fixed by snugging them up.

It’s light enough and folds flat enough to be convenient. The seat rotates to be used from either side of the table or any angle you want to sit at. Stable enough for most shooting, but not heavy enough to be ROCK solid. The table top is a little slick. I use that mat that you put under rugs to keep them from slipping to keep my bags or shooting rest from sliding around.
Yes, would buy again. It suits my purpose.
