Shooting with my boys

I decided to take a break from slug testing today and just go fun shooting with the boys. We had an absolute blast. My older son, Alex (11 yrs) made a great shot that he was very proud of and wanted me to share. We had some exploding golf balls that were set up at 50yds and 100yds. We shot them all, so I told my son to shoot the golf tee at 50yds that was still standing... first shot at 50yds, he hit it! Didn't break it in half but did hit it on the first try! He was super excited so we thought we'd share. I also included a couple other pictures of my son Cooper (9yrs) and other stuff. We have target stands at 50yd, 75yd, 100yd, 150yds, a Ferris wheel at 65yds, a group of metal know your limits style targets on the telephone pole at 70yds, clay targets on the fence at 80yds. and exploding golf balls at 50yds and 100yds. Just a beautiful day out here in Nor Cal. with enough fun targets to keep us busy having a great time!.

I've been waiting a long time for these two guys to grow up and be my fishing, hunting and shooting partners. They both passed hunter safety this year, they're both great shots with air guns and powder burners, they can both fish with the best of them, they even fly fish well and tie their own flies. Now I'm teaching them to row the drift boat so daddy can sit up front and fish sometimes too! Woohoo! Winter Salmon in our Nor Cal rivers is just around the corner and we'll be steelhead fishing together in about 2-3 months!

No, I'm the lefty. He just has trouble shooting with both eyes open. We're working on it.

Hey! NC? I’ve got a teen down there & now 3 air gunners I know, & you’re a lefty also, great!

What’s important is I wanted to say I shot from 7 years old to 12 right eyed. I had no problem doing so with 3/4” scope, iron sights. Around 10 I was starting with 06 and hunting at 12 in this State. I kept squirming & moving on bench. Dad finally said try your left eye. I did and somehow in between there my left eye became my dominant eye.

I don’t know at what age, or if this is common for dominance to change. I’m right handed in writing but through guitar playing & some MA weapons & boxing, all started at 12 years old, I’ve become somewhat ambidextrous. I CAN’T shoot a righty bow. I’ll always hit 6” to left at 20 yards.

Good to see you enjoying targets together. They’ll remember that forever.

That’s awesome man. Keep on being da’ dad!

Its great seeing fathers doing these things with their children. It’s so easy to get wrapped up in our “own thing” that we forget to take our kids along for the experience. We should make our families our best friends and give them our best in every area of life, even play time. Keep up the good work Stoti!

great times shooting with the kids I have 3 kids that love to shoot when they come over but lost my youngest 2 years ago so the others have really been a great time as since the loss of their little brother family has gotten closer than ever. they have their own houses as I help them take care of stuff and when we get some family time free time which seems more scarce as they get older the wife really gets on them to get over to visit at least one day a week for dinner and family time. sometimes its a short visit and a few targets but just lucky to be able to shoot with them and they sometimes kick my ass at battle ship. our favorite game and mine stoti looks like a great place to shoot you got there enjoy them while they are young for sure
