The Schimel is reported to be the first airgun that used the small 8 gram CO2 cartridges. They were sold in the 1940's and 50's and it was said that California required FFL procedures to ship them since they were so similar to a German Luger. I have several that I resealed and shoot routinely. I have even mounted a telescopic sight on one. They are fun to shoot and quite reliable if maintained properly. They do require more attention than modern airpistols but they are 60 year old antiques.
