I know there are mixed feelings about this pellet and many guns don’t seem to like them very much. I also read here that they may lack decent terminal performance drilling holes through prey with not a lot of energy imparted. After watching Steve Scialli’s video on the Hatsan Vectis where he gets 40+ FPE and very respectable accuracy with them, I decided to get a tin to run through my box stock Flashpup (except aftermarket air stripper). I don’t have a chrono so no serious #s. My chrono / energy measurement consists of shooting a 1/4” steel BBQ grill from 85 yards and listening to the return for timing and intensity. Not accurate by any means, but at least I get a sense of relativity. And of course they’re shooting slower but whacking significantly harder than JSB 15.89gr. Anyway, accuracy wise they shoot quite well out of the Flashpup like the Vectis, although I know I’m not getting Steve’s energy levels yet.
Something I’ve tried that the results surprised me was to load them backwards and I see virtually no 30yd POI change at all from forwards. The pellet is actually symmetrically shaped like a capsule with one end truncated and hollow. The pellet in picture on right was fired into the pail of sheetrock mud @ 30yds and recovered behind after it shot through about 8 inches of mud blowing the lid off and exiting the pail. Hope to try one out on a Jackrabbit before long.
