Just a short review for anyone interested. I bought this model after some research mainly for the folding metal construction and the remote reading module. It connects with the included 18' cord which has phone jack connections. I tried a shorter regular phone cord, but apparently the wiring is not the same as it did not work.
It is easy to assemble and uses a single 9 volt battery which along with the remote and the cord fit neatly into the folded unit, but the rods and diffusers must be carried separately. The base has a standard 1/4-20 thread for mounting on a tripod.
The remote has a on-off button and a small button labeled FU (what does that mean?) is used to access the functions. The memory hold 32 consecutive shots. Using the FU button you can read the string number, lowest velocity, highest velocity, average velocity, extreme spread and standard deviation. It also has a jack on the side for a printer should you want one.
Thus far it has performed flawlessly without a single error. I bought this unit from Brownell's and with a $10 off coupon and free shipping I paid $120.99.
