Shooting a Springer

Bipods and springers are a good mix for the field, where support is always welcome... wait for it....

.....BUT !!!...

...on the bench they (bipods) can be frustrating. There is no perfect answer after the "BUT". Your springer will tell you how she likes it.
In my experience what any given springer can do in optimal firing conditions/positions is seldom improved upon by a bipod, Sometimes they will show no marked performance degradation, while at other times (especially with a rickety bipod) everything goes "south".

Summary opinion... expect a bipod to be a boon in the field, and a crapshoot on the bench where the choreography between a springer and her accuracy is concerned.

It is difficult to make generalizations about springers. They're all pretty jumpy to some extent. It is my experience that the higher the power the more care needs to be taken on hold.
One very real problem with mounting a bipod on a springer is that outside of a side cocker, the bipod has to be mounted far back towards the trigger due to the barrel / cocking arm cutout. Fortunately, also in my opinion, if you have to hard rest a springer the farther back the better.

Scrane I was thinking the same thing . It's no possible with most springers to have a mounted bipod because of how the cock and load . Ive seen pics of groups guy have shot off springers like my FWB300 . But it's not really like the ones you see most often.
I feel like the springer section here is growing ( or at least I hope so )
The guys here seem more willing to help when you run into something without beating on their chests like KingKong spouting off their AirGun resumes in every other post :)
