Shooting a fly at 100y

I done that, at 79 M which i think is about 90 Yards.
Now my accompanying post in social say 71 Meters, but i measured from the same table with the leupold range finder last week and it is 79 Meters., 82 M if i measure to the very back target which i have been shooting at lately.

But 79 medium sized Euro units ( M ) as i recall are a bit short of 90 yards, so close, anyway i personally take this as a open challenge so if a fly land of my target i will shoot at it.

Come next time i will see better as from tomorrow when GLS have been by i scale up from 25 X scope to 40 X scope.

I got a fly at 150 m (164 yards) the first day on the long shooting range with my Redwolf .177 HP
Slugs JSB Knockout 13:43 shooting 1000 fps. ( First shot miss - Second shot a direct hit) Soren Drost was monitoring through his rifle scope.

so .177 is really something with slugs.

Best regards
Claus from denmark

It do seem like flies are bigger in some places, mind you in Denmark we also have some flies that is a bit larger than your regular fly, like 2 - 3 X larger.
I shredded a fly more on my last shooting, but not a direct hit but rather the spray of lead from the disintegrating slug hitting the steel.

They say it is hornet season now in Denmark, i will see if i can hit one of those if it land on my backing cardboard.

PS: GLS not been by with my new scope and ammo, tracking still say parcel at the hub in a town called Hinnerup,,,,,, i do not like this i had myself all wound up for getting my parcel today.
But its 2:30 in the afternoon now, so hopes dwindling and a wave of dispair are on the horizon.
On the + side, weather for next weekend look very promising, but it probably turn to what flies often sit on before then.

I know it doesn’t tie in with the fly theme at a 100 yards, but can I lie and say I was aiming for the fly he just ate?

lol just kidding.. I don’t know what he had in his gut but whatever he had in there is gone.

I thought lizards laying flat on their stomach at a 100 yards was the ultimate small distance kill but you fly swatters have shown the ultimate in accuracy

Lol..poor thing.. ,🤤

If you like shooting fly targets you should try the flyswatter challenge. There is a special target you can download (for free) that has 5 flies to get sighted in and then 25 scoring flies. I've shot it a couple times at 35 yards (limit of my back yard) and I think my best is 15 or 16 hits (only body contact counts). The 22lr guys are shooting it at 50 yards but the guys with guns under $1000 that have posted videos I've seen hit less than 10. Some Vudoos do better.
