Shipping- Pellets taking the loooong way

I live in Pennsylvania. I had a split pellet order from Pyramyd Air. The first 2 tins shipped and arrived last week. The next 2 tins shipped via Fedex this week... the 2 tins started in Solon OH, then flew to North Salt Lake UT, from there to Potter Nebraska, then on to Malcom Iowa and then to Amherst Ohio, which is about a 45 minute drive from where they started. That trip took 4 days. Though I am happy to say as of earlier this evening they are finally in Pennsylvania. Makes no sense

One of my pellet orders from PA last Fall. Guess they shipped from the Utah warehouse (AG Depot), for ultimate delivery to California.

They travelled:

North Salt Lake, UT ->Rialto, CA->Bloomington, CA->Kernersville, NC->Widerner, AR->San Jon, NM->Needles, CA->Bloomington, CA->Kernersville, NC-> ...Bloomington, CA > Finally delivered.

It always seemed that they flew to the East Coast, but then trucked back to California.

Never could figure out why they traveled this way. FedEx customer service rep was useless. PA customer service was even worse, and once during the telcon she told me 'you must have chosen the free shipping option', like it was my fault for doing that!

When I started in this hobby 2006 it was a joy to purchase from PA n AGD .I live in Puerto Rico..what ever was ordered it was here in 4 days flat no drama reasonable shipping..now days I don't buy from any of them not even from AOA , shipping prices are ridiculous and now a order could take over a month to arrive..I'm still waiting a refund for 3 bipods from PA of a order from 4 years ago ..and is their fault because trenier outdoors..ship USPS and everything is here in 5 days at max ..let say 18 tins of pellets from trenier is $18 from PA - AGD - AOA ..$70 shipping whaaaaaat how could you justify that..a rifle $70 shipped from trenier...from the other 3 places between $90 n $120.. for me they don't exist anymore..

I am so glad that I can use .177 CPUM 10.5 pellets. Also very happy that I bought a little over 20,000 of them before all of this COVID bs.

So far, although I have not ordered any pellets in the last couple of years, all of my other online orders have been coming in reasonably quickly.

That is using the free shipping option whenever possible. Usually "SmartPost" or some collusion between the shipper and the USPS.

Only had one shipment late recently and it was only one day late.

Hehe trust me just CUZ the country in question are the size on a single US state,,,,,, that do not mean things will make more sense.

Even if the post was privatized years ago, and is now owned by another country, it still do not work, and as always someone have to rain tax payer money on them.

My friend once got a huge gasoline powered RC boat, as i recall the price was well over 1000 USD.

Anyway it arrived,. but my friend was not too happy about the trashed box, still he opened and found a boat inside actually packaged as good as one would ever expect it to be, but not enough for the forced Danish postal are able to dish out, so the propeller & rudder assembly was slightly broken and the gel coat on the hull was also cracked in places.

So he complained to postal,,,,,,, who denied though it was clear it was their handling.

CUZ upon arrival here the parcel had been opened by customs, and then they are done they close it, and put their own tape on the package, but then after that the package had been compacted lengthwise so the box in places was folded like the bellow on a accordion, but the customs tape followed the ups and down of the creases in the cardboard, and the tape would just have gone from top to top if they had been there before the compacting.

And to top that off the mail then lost the 1.5 X 2 X 7 foot long parcel, and it took them 3 month to find it on some obscure post office no way near where my friend live.

And it was also pretty evident the parcel had not been opened since my friend sealed it and went to the post office to complain.

So the end was he had to accept his broken bot and we had to restore the cracked gel coat and the rear end of the hull too, fortunately we are both painters, and i have a range of other fabricating educations to draw upon too.

My take is that by relation to its creators, any postal service are inherently evil.

I ordered a gauge from Edgun West in Yorba Linda, CA a couple weeks ago. Shipping the package to me 1 hour and 15 minute drive away to Hesperia, CA. The package hit San Bernardino, then went to Florida, then to Colorado, then to Vernon CA, then back to San Bernardino, then to Hesperia and finally to me. Anybody wonder why USPS is bankrupt?

Also ordered Pellets from Pyramid Air awhile back. I called them because my package was going basically to every state possible. They told me it's the free "Sure Post" and they have no control. They said to expect 2 week shipments sometimes. Yeah, no thanks. BUT I can agree that the pellet packaging was great, so is Utah Airguns pellet packaging. Midway is the WORST, do not buy pellets from them. Terrible!

Once fedex or ups or whomever the shipper is gets their hands on the merchandise then PA has no control. There are containers marked for whichever shipper and type of shipment being used. Next day pkgs in one container, USPS shipments in another, UPS in another and so forth. The shipper picks up that container and PA has no control. My grandaughter works for a company that ships auto parts with a variety of different shippers, they have the same issues! The shipper wants you to use the more expensive route so they make more money, you are penalized for using the cheapest route by sending it all over the country where bulk shipping rates are cheaper. Also keep in mind that uncle sam now has their nose in the shipping business so they are putting more useless restrictions on shippers due to the govt bailouts! Also a big shortage of truck drivers to make deliveries! It is not gonna get better anytime soon, might as well get used to it!!!!!!
