Shipping options?

Trying to sell an extra rifle I purchased on impulse buy and really have no use for it. But it was such a great deal I couldn’t pass.

My question is regarding shipping. I see a lot of deals offering free shipping and I’m sure that very attractive to buyers. What would be the cheapest way to ship a PCP rifle from Phoenix Arizona to inside the continental US?

Thanks in advance for any input.

Sometimes it come down to simple logistics...

If you are going to be honest about what's in the package, (and I always am, otherwise the shipping insurance I buy for the package would be useless) then UPS and FedEx policy is going to limit you to shipping from the distribution centers. Sometimes you'll find a UPS store or FedEx store that will take them but I wouldn't count on it without checking with them first.

So, logistics wise... I can drive an hour each way to a UPS distribution center or simply use USPS.

Call Airguns of Arizona (AoA) if you are in metro Phoenix. They used to ship guns for their customers and do so with the discount rate they get. They also double box and they charge a reasonable amount. Just warn the person that will receive the item that it is coming in a box from AoA.

Failing that my fall back has been the USPS. Great rates, tracking and they don't have a problem with airguns.

Best wishes.

I work for the USPS and can tell you that they have gotten strict on mailing guns. Although an air gun is not technically a gun, if you are honest about the contents for insurance purposes, there is a chance, maybe 25% that the air gun might get returned to you. It all depends who encounters the gun, what they know(or don't) and how strict they want to be. Even though it's money for my employer and much easier for me to ship at work, I ship UPS because I don't want to be out $70 for shipping costs and have to re-ship the gun because some employee sees "air gun" and freaks out. It's sad but you're taking a chance and might encounter a big hassle if you ship with the postal service. Just something to be aware of. Stoti
