Well I tried to keep it as tactful as I could. No judging, no hate, no hard feelings. The purpose of my post is to serve as proof to @Scotay42 and the community that I am no thief and I am a man of my word. It’s quite ironic that you guys keep commenting here and causing the thread to get longer. I highly suggest you block me and get on to less kiddie like posts thanks bubs

@Joedirt199
I tried birchwood Casey cold blue on another project gun. The results were subpar at best. Splotchy and not consistent. I guess for some that’s fine but I prefer a nice hot bath

It is a nice gun if you’re in the market for a spray painted air tube. Me personally I like blued steel. Mechanically it functioned flawlessly.
Indeed also very simple rigs to replace the $80 airtube on. Buy it! I do not need another.

John

The air Air Arms air tubes have an expiry date on them, just like a Daystate, and you are supposed to replace it at that date. If it was painted, you would not be able to read the expiry date. A new air tube is the obvious solution. Someone would be out the eighty bucks though.
I was surprised this morning that a friend has sent one to me, he was waiting on them to be back in stock.

I tried to comment on the old thread but it was locked. I bought that s510 last summer from another member on here. The gun shot great and was mechanically flawless. The stock did have a bit of scuffs and scratches and looked like someone put a gloss clear coat on it. All of the issues that were brought up by legionair were from me when I owned it. The air cylinder was scratched up pretty good and was starting to get some rust so I tried to clean it up and do a blue touch up which did not come out well. I then sanded it down and spray painted it with some black rustoleum paint to protect it for the time being. I did this because at the time, the blued replacement tubes were out of stock and on back order. There was mention of sharpie marks on the receiver which was thought to be covering up scratches, this was not the case. I used a sharpie to mark my scope ring locations for when I removed my scope a couple times. There was also a streak of what looked to be clear coat on the side of the receiver from whoever clear coated the stock before I got it. Scotay42 and I have done several trades and transactions over the past couple years and keep in contact. He offered me a trade for the rifle and I accepted and looking back through our texts I don’t believe I told him about painting the air cylinder.

I did reach out to legionair after I found out about it to let him know about this to hopefully settle things down a bit.

My only purpose for commenting on this is to try to clear things up for those of you who have read and/or commented on the other thread about the sale of this gun between Scotay42 and legionair. All the cosmetic issues that were brought forth about the gun were there when I purchased it and the painted air cylinder and sharpie marks was my doing. There was no shady cover ups going on on Scotay42’s part and hopefully this clears that up

@Scott.t thanks again for clearing that up. Totally changed my perspective on Scotay. Even him not wanting to refund my money is understandable now that I know he wasn’t trying to pull a fast one. It was just a matter of us not trusting one another. Water under the bridge.
