Sherwood Airgunners match report for Sept. 7, 2025 Field Target match.
With the FT season quickly winding down but a few big GPs just around the corner we wanted to stretch this course out with some long shots and that's exactly what we did. 21 of the 30 targets were over 40 yds, 6 of those were over 50yds. Add in some wind and you have a pretty tough course even though we used ALL full size KZs. The Troyer rating ended up a 32.
We had a great turnout of 25 shooters with the majority shooting Hunter division, WFTF was also nicely represented. Temps were in the mid 60s and with the cooler air and leaves beginning to change it was a very nice late summer day. We did have some wind that even snuck itself onto the wooded lanes and made wind calls a challenge. In the field where we had 5 lanes it was even more troublesome.
In Hunter PCP Cam Armstrong had little problems with the long course and wind and shot a very nice 54/60 for first place. We had a three way tie with Kelsie Michaud, Jeff Swartz and Steve Hockenberry each shooting a 49/60. To determine the outcome we went to the positional lanes to see who did best. Kelcie got 2nd and Steve got 3rd.
In WFTF Tyler Patner fresh off his 2nd place Worlds finish shot a 54/60 for first place. Keith Walters shot a 48/60 for second fiddle.
In WFTF Piston Jeff Paddock shot a 45/60 for first place.
We did have a first time Sherwood shooter Phil Eckley join us for the match. Phil is a long time ft shooter which recently moved to Ohio and is back shooting ft again....thanks for coming out Phil.
Lastly I want to thank the whole Sherwood crew for doing a great job with the grounds and serving lunch...we have made Sherwood a great airgunning venue.
Sincerely,
Match Director
