🌳Sherwood Airgunners🌳 Indoor 25 yard Bench Rest Match Report. December 11,2022

Sherwood Airgunners Indoor Bench Rest Match Report December 11,2022.

Sherwood Airgunners had our first 25 yard indoor Bench Rest match December 11, 2022. We had a total of 21 shooters come out and sling some lead with us at our indoor range. We had 3 heats(starting times) of 10:00 12:00 and 2:00 with 8 lanes available per heat. Some shooters shot multiple classes and spent the entire day at our range. At our matches we also provide food which normally consists of donuts, coffee, hamburgers, hot dogs and drinks. I'm sure competitors appreciate the provided food to throw down once their done shooting.

So we had 10 competitors shoot in Heavy Varmint which has a limit of 20ft lb rifle. Carl Lucas shot good enough for 3rd place with his Daystate Wolverine with a combined 3 card accumulative score of 741 27x count. In second place Eric Jones shot a 746-37x with a borrowed Feinwerkbau P70 from Jeff Swartz. Making sure he didn't get gunned down with his own rifle Jeff Swartz took the win with his FWB P70 with a great score and X count of 749-45x,,,,great shooting Jeff!

We had quite a few shooters in Piston division with veteran Al Duster leading the way. Al shot a 732-25x's with a RWS 75 and March scope….great shooting Al looking forward to more great piston scores from you. In second place Eric Jones shot a 721-15x's with another Diana 75. I see a equipment pattern here with Al and Eric both using 75's for their matches. In 3rd place Jeff Swartz used Eric's 75 for a 707-14x's. Hats off to these piston shooters you guys have more patience with these rifles than I ever had.

We had 2 competitors shooting Light Varmint with Doug Cunningham leading the way using a Rapid Air Weapons BM 500, Hawke scope combo to take the win. Doug's score was 249-11x…249-12x…249-11x= 747-33x count. Can't get much more consistent than that…nice shooting Doug!

Finally we had two youth shooters competing with Sister and brother, Allison and Braden Tutak. Allison shot a 532-5X's and Braden a 662-6X's. I want to give a special thanks to their father Walt for bringing them out and introducing them to air rifles!

Lastly I just want to thank my Sherwood crew of Doug Cunningham, Dave Campbell,Tom West and Carl Lucas. We may be some old worn out geezers but you guys ran like a well oiled machine and did a great job. I appreciate your efforts of having a very well run match…well done my friends.

Appreciate everyone that came out and shot and supported Sherwood Airgunners, without you this great facility and property would not be able to exist.

Sincerely,

Match Director
