Sherwood Airgunners had our monthly FT match this past Sunday August 3, 2025. We decided to shoot the Hollow course and I tried to switch things up quite a bit. That being said I also tried make it a longer course. Troyer rating ended up a 33.85 with 16 of the 30 targets over 40yds. 6 of those targets were over 50yds and the average distance per shot was 40.39. Luckily 24 of the 30 targets had full size kill zones. I also stretched out a few of the positionals with one kneeler at 42 yds and a offhand at 38yds
.
The weather was quite pleasant in the Hollow with temps early in the morning in the 50s and rising to high 70s when we got done. There was traces of wind here and there enough to make you think about your holdover. 14 shooters came out to shoot this challenging course.
In Hunter PCP Steve Hockenberry continued to shoot well with a great score of 54/60. Jamie Marusiak and Doug Cunningham tied for 2nd but the winner was decided by a draw of a few sticks. Jamie Marusiak drew the
end of the stick and Doug got 2nd lol.
Tyler Patner also continued his awesome command of a FT course and shot a 56/60 for first place in WFTF.
Match High score was shot by Rick Smelko shooting a 58/60 in unlimited class.
I want to add that we shot all Flopover targets from England and had ZERO cold lines or protests. A very chill day on the FT course.
I want to thank the crew at Sherwood for all the help...the course looked fantastic, the building and grounds looked great and the food was good. Very well done guys!
Sincerely,
KeithWalters
