Sexy Armada

Just a teaser of what an Armada looks like when paired with a Boyd's stock (yes it needs a barrel band):

IMHO Crosman / Benjamin should drop the standard Marauder breech in favor of the Armada breech because it is more beefy plus has a built in Picatinny rail.

Well sometimes you are in the right place at the right time knowing the right people and a 'deal" presents itself that is so good you have to wonder why all this good luck.
Needless to say the Armada was obtained at a price that could cause most forum members cry out loud "including myself" if I read about such a deal and was not the recipient thereof. It did have a leak at the gauge which a few turns of Teflon tape fixed. My thanks goes to Willie of Big Boar Air in Tyler, TX ;)

John I have not torn them down but I believe that other than the breech / stock parts, they are using all the same parts as the Gen2. I can verify the exact same mounting points and that both breech's are the same length and width. The height of the Picatinny breech is more by the thickness of the rail itself. Looks like a bolt on swap to my eyes. I'll see if I can find a parts diagram to verify.

THIS ^ is why this forum is so great and why so many airgunners visit even when they have no intention of joining in on the threads. Loads of solid information, lots of good down-to-earth people who share information and encouragement without name-calling and flaming. In short, a community. Glad I found this place amidst all the wrack and ruin on the Web.

Well my good buddy plinker (he is the good guy and a master woodworker not that plinkster fellow that is a long time crook) inleted my Boyds Blaster stock for a Marauder so here it is still unfinished but mounted for your viewing pleasure. I purchased a Blaster from plinker a year ago but let it go when I sold my .22 Marauder. I am glad to have one again because the balance is so much better than a Stock stock or even the Boyds Factory Inletted stock which has several glaring design flaws such as a cheek weld that is entirely too low to be of any use and no provision for shooting thumb up. The Blaster corrects this but Boyds refuses to inlet it for a Marauder for some reason! Thanks John!!!
