Settling Two Air Rifles for All

1. Spring Air HW50S

2. D54 Recoilless

I only shoot these two models now from 20 to 105 yards. The D54 is sighted for 105 yards while the HW50S is now scoped with a Swarovski Z3 3-9X 40mm scope without recoilless mount (the Diana ZR mount is NOT atop to solidify the Swarovski scope on the HW50S) but rather a 3 screw panel mount one piece that is able to slide forward or backward for best eye relief.

End result of my life of shooting all kinds of air rifles I can say I'm satisfied with just owning the D54 and HW50S together.

Adding a scope to the HW50S .20 and leaving the other one open sighted the scoped one could easily do in ranges less than 35 or so yards while the D54 extends from there to beyond 100 yards with accuracy on par with any PCP or less. The caliber in both rifles is .20 and that is not me saying .20 is best but to me the two rifles in .20 are the best brace of air rifles ever; allowing anyone to extend interest in other models in other styles to compare them or add to them.

The .177 and .22 debate is over when you go .20 in Medium Power (HW50S) and High Power (D54 .20).

I may have neglected other models that work for others, who know having them in multiple caliber or bridge caliber makes a difference.

Kindly,

The new jsb 15.9. Exact heavy surely extended the range of the .20 . That 54 in .20 must be a blast. Two nice gun you have. Congrats.

Glad you are enjoying your .20 calibers. As mentioned earlier this week in another post, and specifically to Twinkees' inquiry, I own three .20s, one 98, one R9, and one HW97K. All are extremely accurate, though I would give the 97 the award for the most accurate and dependable. They are all solid and I wouldn't be afraid to take a head shot on a squirrel out to 50 yards with any one of them.

What about the 97k in .20 ...any opinions or experiences with that? Thanks.

My first .20 was in the Sheridan, second the lightened model of the R1 called R10 with lighter metal.

The third .20 happened to be me ordering HW97K-T .20.

The 97 is more effort to shoot close or far range than HW98s. My HW98 .20 shoots faster than my 97K-T and is also more accurate. Then cocking on the HW97 is not really very advanced to a side lever like a D54 in .20.
