For serious solid impact. MOD 135 Vortex QE .30 caliber break barrel.

I have a .30 cal 130 too. I really like the stock, not for looks but for how it handles. Its a shooter's stock IMO. I also got a .25 cal 135. Then I switched stocks. I really like the .25 cal 135 on the 130 stock. I use a scope on that combination. OTOH, the .30 cal 130 on the wooden 135 stock gets a peep sight. I can easily hit walnuts out to 35 m with the peep sighted .30 cal. However, the front sight is low. I had to use the Williams peep sight for low line of sight and even that wasn't quite low enough. Its not much of an issue though since the .30 cal has such an arched trajectory and I'm not likely to be in a situation where I'll be taking shots beyond 35m. I just have to get the sight picture just right in the peep sight. I've been impressed with the accuracy with both of these rifles considering how powerful they are. I don't think they are too hard to handle particularly after comparing them to my .25 cal Beeman Kodiak. That Kodiak is hard to handle.

The .30 cal isn't much of a penetrator but it really smashes those walnuts! Its like bow hunting with blunt arrow tips for blunt force trauma!

The .25 cal though will push some pellets! I can't remember exactly but I think I was getting about 700 fps with 25 gr pellets. I know 16 gr alloy pellets were doing about 900 fps. I estimate about 28 fpe but I've never done the math on that.

I bagged a raccoon that was trying to kill chickens. He was up in a tree about 25 yards or so away, aiming for the head he moved and I hit him in the shoulder. Knocked him out of the tree. Dead before he hit the ground. The pellet went clean through. A large exit hole. Probably shattering bone on its path through. This i my favorite gun for taking game without a doubt.
