Seneca Aspen pump dependability?

I’m considering picking one of these up in .22 but I see lots of reports on the forums about the pumps locking up and needing service. Can anybody shed some light on how common an occurrence this is?

IMHO, the pump needs 10 or 15 drops of silicone oil before starting to shoot. Nova is real stingy with lube in the pump which is the problem. Any pump needs to be lubed to continue to operate correctly.

Do you mean oil before each shooting secession? or when its new? thanks Willy
